Improve your health from the inside out. This is my philosophy and it has changed my life. I have struggled with weight and self-esteem most of my life.
I should have been happy, I was married to the love of my life, young, and endless possibilities in my future. Just one problem, I was not happy. No matter what I did I just kept sinking deeper into myself and I didn’t know if I could come out of it. The worse the self-esteem and anxiety got, the more weight I gained. I gained almost 75 pounds over the years.
I graduated college with a BBA in Management. I was happy professionally but not with my health. My quality of life was not what I wanted it to be. I didn’t have the energy to keep up with my very active husband and I wanted this to change. A grade school friend inspired to me to try running. I discovered a beginner running group, this was not by accident but part of God’s grand plan.
My anxiety became intense and medication was prescribed. This helped but the side effects at times were terrible: brain fog, weight gain, etc. I tolerated this for almost 10 years off and on. I began searching for alternatives to medications and how to change my eating pattern. I tried for a few years with different suggestions. At times it seemed I was succeeding, and at other times I would fall back into my old patterns. I was tired of the back and forth, so I consulted with my doctor and discontinued the medications, then began researching natural approaches to health.
Running and a natural approach to health saved my health. I lost weight, my energy levels improved, no more brain fog, my mind was clearer and I felt like me again.
